MASTER Careers in Heritage Science

This graduate programme draws on over a decade of experience gained by CESR faculty members in the field of heritage science. In conjunction with the regional Intelligence des Patrimoines (‘Heritage Intelligence’) research programme, the curriculum provides students with the state-of-the-art training required for current positions in the tourism, culture, publishing, archives, education, and research sectors. Students will engage in applied research and professional training that unites the social sciences and humanities with other scientific areas.
Course content focusses on project management and digital literacy, providing competencies in key software tools as well as in the edition, publication, and dissemination of content-rich documents.
It prepares students both for doctorates that will develop new fields of research and for executive-level responsibilities that require specialized knowledge concerning data collection and
processing, the conservation of cultural patrimony, and the handling of digital documents.
The programme also offers an optional specialisation in literary heritage and digital publishing, preparing students more specifically for careers in digital conservation and in the recovery and digital processing of written works of cultural patrimony. Certain modules are offered in conjunction with our course options in Renaissance Cultures and Heritage and Digital Mediation of Cultural Heritage.
